Regain That Shopping Feeling Again

By Jermaine Sutton

I remember the time when buying power was solely given to the consumer and retailers worked diligently in ensuring that consumers continued to have the proper leverage to walk in buy whatever they desired and walked out happy customers. What happened to those times and why did some retailers change their strategy?

I will tell you what happened, retailers got greedy, manufacturers got greedy, and consumers, the most important part of the equation were left out of the conference room discussions and when the focus came to targeting demographics to boost sales, a lot of companies that have since went into bankruptcy made the biggest assumption of all; they assumed that consumers would purchase no matter the cost or situation because it was an unwanted need, need being their products, that the consumer desired. Therefore the assumption was that if they continued to provide the product, we would continue to purchase.

Evidently that assumption cost a lot of retailers dearly and manufacturers are not too far behind with their overhead cost to build or develop the products costing the retailer more to house the product than the actual profit from sale. There is definitely a serious reality check in the mist as the dark clouds (the economy) continues to hover overhead with little sunny skies in sight. Those companies that remain true to principle such as Wal-Mart and many other discount stores as you can see after the storm hit, continued to strive and make profit.

I recently came across an online store heavy with discount coupons and low price products covering all the big names in the industry. The thing that struck me about this website not only was the price of its merchandise, but its name, "Products4less". As a consumer, I am always shopping for a great bargain and face it, in an economy where jobs are scarce and money is even scarcer, discount shopping will become the wave or new fad of the future for shoppers that love to purchase new things without breaking the bank account.

Obviously the owner had you and me in mind when he developed this website because the products being offered are top brand products from some pretty heavy designers from Prada (100% Authentic), Coach(100% Authentic), Marc Jacobs(100% Authentic), fashion jeans, discounted women apparel, discounted jewelry, bath & body, perfume, books, and a lot more. The catch phrase for all of the products is "discount" and "products for less". Face it, every dollar earned and saved is savings and when you can get what you want for a fraction of the cost and walk away with money left over, then you have regained your buying power.

After all, the power to purchase is not the retailers, but yours as the consumer making the purchase as they can't succeed without you and they know if they don't make reasonable offers to you in an effort to convince you to buy their products, then they lose out big as you simply move on to the next retailer that offers the right product for the right price.

If you are looking for a place to regain some serious shopping power and find the products you need or desire at discount prices and for a fraction of the cost, I recommend you take a look around at http://www.products4less.org
